War Syndrome, affects people who have faced exceptional events, such as an earthquake, a robbery, a rape and, of course, it affects also military personnel who find themselves in the middle of shootings, explosions, as well as all the victims of attacks who see with their own eyes the horror. The symptoms are disabling, ranging from insomnia to flashbacks of the traumatic event. Those who suffer from War Syndrome live it as if the event was still happening, becoming anxious and often experience tachycardia. The memories of what they lived enter in their head and many end up abusing alcohol and drugs, become depressed, some even attempt suicide and see their marriages fall apart. When they have to go back in the field they fear of not being up to it, they live in fear of having a panic attack during an operation, so they are no longer able to perform their jobs well.
